Pilates is a method of exercise which aims to strengthen the body’s deep core postural muscles in order to improve the way we walk, work and play. Pilates is a method of exercise and physical movement designed to stretch, strength and balance the body. According to its founder, Joseph Pilates, the center or core of the body is where the initiation of movement should come from.

It is also a series of exercises that work the body from head to toe. The original exercises known today as “mat work” are done on the floor. The Pilates equipment uses spring tension to challenge and support the body and truly compliments the challenging mat work exercises.

For 8 yrs Susan enjoyed  the world of personal training focusing primarily on increasing strength and endurance in her clients.  Then she was introduced to the world of Pilates and everything changed.  Within a few weeks she discovered an internal strength that changed her posture for ever. She found herself standing straighter,with a tenfold increase in flexibility.  But what she also saw was a perfect partnership between strength training and Pilates, a partnership that is unique to her studio in Austin.  Susan believes in training the body from the inside out, core conditioning being the primarily focus, then moving on to the body's extremities.  While strength training her cleints, she uses her advanced Pilates training to bring their results to the next level.
